Parliament's sustainable development committee did not support a proposal by opposition party LMP to put a half-year moratorium on issuing permits for new shopping centers, pending the creation of stricter regulations for such projects.
The state supports sustainability, but that does not equal banning constructions and expansions, deputy state secretary of the ministry of national economy Endre Horváth said. He added that a planned new chamber law will include a requirement for creating preliminary impact studies. [napi.hu]
